Volunteer Opportunities - We Need Hike Leaders!

Volunteers are needed for the GMC Annual Meeting, May 31 at Waterbury
Center. (Can you lead an afternoon hike?)
If you can volunteer, notify Shawn Flanigan
(sflanigan at greenmountainclub.org).
Be sure to register for the meeting, too.
Friday, May 30
Set Up Crew
1:00-4:00
Brief Description: Help set up Waterbury Headquarters campus,
supplies, signs, etc. In general, volunteers will help with all-
around assistance for Saturday preparations.
Saturday, May 31
Signs & Parking (7:30 am – 9 am)
Brief Description: Volunteer(s) to help set up signs and saw horses
and to help direct vehicular and foot traffic around Headquarters.
Continental Breakfast (7:30 am – 9:00 am)
Brief Description: Food Coordinator will assist GMC staff with
transportation and pick-up of food for delivery to HQ and help make
hot beverages. Coordinator will be contact for set up crew with food
provided by Food Coordinator. All help with set up and clean up.
Meeting Set Up (8:00 – 9:00)
Brief Description: Help get tables, chairs, materials, etc. set up
for morning meeting & Board Meeting
Deli Lunch (11:30 – 1:00)
Brief Description: Food Coordinator will assist GMC staff with
transportation and pick-up of lunch supplies for delivery to HQ.
Lunch Coordinator will be contact volunteers assisting with tickets
and food set up and clean up. One or two persons should plan to take
meal tickets for attendees.
Registration
Brief Description: Handle cash box and sales, check in registered
attendees, admit additional attendees, help sell raffle tickets.
Provide name tags and information about activities and events during
the day.
Hike & Activity sign ups:
Brief Description: Coordinate sign up sheets for hikes/outings and
set up an area to post during am.
Afternoon Hikes & Activities: (1:00 pm)
Clean-Up Crew (5:00 pm)
Brief Description: Help break down registration area and clean up
site as much as possible before dinner.
Evening Event (4:30 – 5:00 pm)
Brief Description: Coordinator will be contact for set-up crew –
tables & chairs, etc.
Dinner (6:00 – 7:30 pm)
Brief Description: Coordinator will be contact for volunteers and
caterer. Volunteers assist with table & chair arrangements and other
general set up tasks. One or two persons should plan to take meal
tickets from attendees.
Evening Event (7:30 – 9:00 pm – possibly later?)
Brief Description: Help monitor bonfire and immediate area for safety.
